The Caring Touch Of Silent Hands
Going into the busiest season for hairdressers
last year, I suffered a back injury that left me
unable to work. I was looking at a complete loss
of income and the destruction of the financial
stability I had worked so hard for. My parents
opened their home to me and my daughter,
but were in no position to take over my financial
obligations.
With surgery and several months of recovery as
my only hope to regain any mobility, I realized
how fast I could be financially wiped out. I was
scared and fearful for our future. Christmas was
only six weeks away.
One of my dear clients called to check on me.
She listened, encouraged me and very generously
connected me with Silent Hands. Two days later, I
received checks to cover my medical and car
payments while I was laid up.
We celebrated Christmas with a renewed faith
that God's gift was still alive and moving through
others even total strangers. I recovered in the
generous, loving and faithful fold of Silent Hands.
I am forever grateful.

Watching Out For Those In Need
Thank you for the help with the groceries that
you helped me purchase for my children and I.
I am a single mom with three children who was
recently laid off from my job. Although I receive
unemployment, it barely covers our bills and I
only receive $79 a month in food stamps.
So many people fall through the cracks of help
from the government, who does not consider the
cost of job searching with gas close to $3 a gallon.
You folks are doing a wonderful job at helping
those of us who have no place else to turn. Thanks
again and God bless you all.

Where We Fit In
Silent Hands was started in 2003. The mission of Silent
Hands was simple and has not changed today to
provide help to people who are in crisis caused by loss of
employment, divorce, abuse, illness or widowed and
don’t necessarily fit into the need criteria of other
charitable organizations.
Be Kind To Others
At Silent Hands, we do not ask for repayment. Silent
Hands suggests that recipients do a random act of
kindness for someone who needs love and support.
We recommend that recipients take a meal to an elderly
or homebound individual; teach someone to read; or
simply offer a smile and words of encouragement to
others. At Silent Hands, we know people feel good after
doing something for someone else in need. No act of
kindness is too small.
